MO Highway Patrol to be on the lookout for child safety violations

This week is National Child Passenger Safety Week. The Missouri Highway Patrol in particular will be on the lookout for child safety violations.

Public Information Officer for Highway Patrol Troop H, Jake Angle, says they will have special operations for the week.

"We have zero tolerance on seatbelts and child restraints.  It's something that obviously as far as our main mission which is highway safety, that plays a critical role.  But I know here at Troop Base we are going to have some overtime operations.  You know what that's going to be - one of our focuses - obviously will be issuing citations for all violations, but with a special emphasis on child restraint violations and seatbelt violations.  It's something we take very seriously.  And obviously having a child restrained in a child restrained seat or booster seat and then everyone wearing their seatbelt is critical."
